Students of TechnoPlanet were selected to represent at an International forum, yet again. 2 students from the lab participated in BRICS Youth Summit, 2015 held in Kazan, Russia, held from 1st to 7th July 2015. Neha Valecha and Jehi Jha were a part of the 50 Delegates from India. they were chosen and sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India to represent India at the BRICS YOUTH SUMMIT.
There were about 300 participants from the five nations – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The youth discussed on mainly topics which included Political issues, the Economy, Mass Media, Science and Technology and the Humanitarian sphere. Neha Valecha and Jehi Jha were in Science and Technology group and discussed on issues like brain drain, more research opportunities in the country, policies to encourage scientists to come back, setting up of research labs, setting up of BRICS University league and much more. The youth perspective on the issues was being looked for.
Following the Summit, the young delegates submitted proposals for promoting Political, Economic, Information, Science and Technology and Cultural cooperation between the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) countries.
